Phu Quoc, Vietnam

When a business trip leads to a weekend getaway at one of my favorite places in Vietnam... Phu Quoc! I was on a factory visit trip for 2 weeks in Ho Chi Minh City and decided to getaway from the hustle and bustle of the city and head to Phu Quoc to relax. Phu Quoc is the largest island in Vietnam, just an hour direct flight from Ho Chi Minh City and super easy to get to and from the island.

We stayed at the Regent Phu Quoc, located next to the Intercontinental Hotel. This new IHG hotel just opened 2 months ago and we were one of the first guests to stay! This beachfront resort was pure luxury, down to the very last detail. We stayed in the Garden Pool Suite and had our very own pool in our backyard. We were surrounded by lush palm trees and really felt like we were in a jungle oasis. The best part was all of the outdoor showers, it was such a vibe.

Just a short walk away from our suite was the beach lined with palm trees, cabanas, hammocks, as well as umbrellas with chairs. There is drink and food service and it was amazing to just rest and reset. We fell asleep under the umbrella chairs for a good 3 hours! After that we moved to another other body of water, the resort pool! It was so dreamy. The food and drinks were so good and we received some of the best customer service we have ever had.

Make sure to eat at the Ocean Club and get the seafood platter, it was so good. It was such a great spot to grab lunch or catch a sunset at dinner. The entire property was so gorgeous and huge, they had an art gallery in the lobby and if you do not feel like walking you can hire the buggy car to take you anywhere, or you can borrow a bike and cycle there. There are so many options at this resort! At the end of the night, check out sunset at the Fu Bar at the sky pool terrace and rooftop bar. Take a dip in the rooftop pool and enjoy the live sax music!

For one of the days we decided to head to the Sunset Sanato Beach Club to see some art installations and listen to some house music. The last time I was here was in 2019! Since then there are some new art installations, there is two full bars now, and there are way more chairs and hang out areas. You do have to pay for entry now, which is 100,000VND or $4.30 USD which is not bad at all! It was great to support the local economy and tourism.

Phu Quoc was such a great little getaway and a good place to rest and hang out. It's an easy flight from the city and a weekend is enough time to get through everything on the island. The last day we were there it rained so we weren't able to check out the Phu Quoc Cable Car and the waterpark at that area. But will definitely check that out next time. There is just something about Phu Quoc that keeps me coming back!
